Xilinx /MOSA.ic: Simplifying Software Systems Through Modular Design

  • 31st July 2020

LYNX MOSA.ic™ is a software development framework for rapidly building robust, comprehensible software systems out of independent application modules, realizing the vision of the Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA).LYNX MOSA.ic dovetails with the unique capabilities of the Xilinx UltraScale+ MPSoC leveraging ARMv8-A CPU virtualization and Vertex FPGA to partition designs into fine-grained distributed systems on a single chip. The MOSA.ic SDK is available with Board Support Packages for the Hypervisor, RTOS, Linux, and bare metal application development tools for the Xilinx ZCU102 and ZCU106 reference design boards. The MOSA.ic SDK includes an eclipse based IDE, multi-core and peripheral system partitioning build tools, and inter partition communication libraries to connect guests over virtual ethernet and shared memory interconnects. The combination of the heterogeneous hardware and software platforms from Lynx and Xilinx provide unparalleled options for integrating solutions fit for safety and security critical production environments.
