Crypto Quantique and AIoT company Blaitek have partnered to create a new quantum-safe cybersecurity solution.

Under the alliance, the partners said they will leverage Crypto's embedded IoT security platform, QuarkLink and Blaitek's cloud services to provide a secure network for customers to conduct over-the-air updates throughout the life cycle of their devices.

The new system is designed to be resistant to attacks from quantum computers, using algorithms known as cryptographic algorithms to provide an additional layer of security against these more advanced systems.

The companies said the collaboration marks “a significant stride toward providing robust, future-proof solutions” in the shifting landscape to where businesses are beginning to prioritize quantum-safe cybersecurity.

“Proactively anticipating the quantum computing era, Crypto Quantique is enhancing the resilience of QuarkLink through the integration of post-quantum cryptography,” according to a company statement. “These quantum-resistant techniques are designed to ensure the sustained efficacy of security measures, even in the face of potential quantum-powered attacks.”

The partnership comes as EU nations ramp up cybersecurity regulations in preparation for the forthcoming EU Cyber Resilience Act, which mandates a baseline security level for connected devices, with fines for companies whose products do not meet these requirements.
