A butler-style robot designed to help with household tasks could be ready for commercialization in a few years.

The robot, Alfie, was designed by startup Prosper Robotics, which was founded by OpenAI alum Shariq Hashme, to develop  general-purpose robots for domestic and business settings.

Below, Alfie is shown performing daily household tasks such as loading and unloading the dishwasher, wiping surfaces and taking out the trash.

Though limited information has been shared by the company, according to its website, Alfie can “clean, organize your things, and take care of small chores like watering your plants.”

The wheeled robot is fitted with two arms and hands, which can be moved up and down depending on the task at hand.

The robot will also reportedly come with a toolbox of customizable tools that can be added to its hands, including suction cups or a specialized mop to make it adaptable to a variety of household chores.
