Miso Robotics is collaborating with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to trial the software behind restaurant bot favorites Flippy 2 and Flippy Lite at scale using AWS RoboMaker.

Using the AWS RoboMaker platform, Miso predicts it will be able to run up to 50 simulations at once – drastically increasing the rate at which it moves products from concept to realization. This platform is a cloud-based simulation service that was developed to help robotics companies trial, scale and automate simulation without having to manage any infrastructure.

“Integrating into AWS RoboMaker has been a game changer for us to scale our products and make sure the software and its updates are ready to deploy with units in the field,” said Chris Kruger, CTO of Miso Robotics. “We will go from running 12 simulations a month with single units to doing 100 in a night. By testing hundreds of configurations in parallel, we are able to save costs and develop products faster.”

The AWS platform allows comparison of prototype software and units to track and address anomalies securely, with AWS validating simulations to create a stable baseline for any new infrastructure or software updates.

The news comes as Miso announced its Series E funding round has opened, with the group looking to continue expanding and developing its pipeline of kitchen assistant robots in response to what it says is the “growing labor gap” in the restaurant industry.
