Boston Dynamics’ Robot Dog on Security Patrol at Boston Marathon

This isn’t the first time Spot has been part of security patrols in Boston

Spot the robot dog was up early Monday morning, patrolling the starting line of the 127th Boston Marathon.

Boston Dynamics’ quadruped robot was in Hopkinton, Massachusetts early Monday morning to help with security patrols before the start of the international event.

This isn’t the first time Spot has been part of security patrols at a Boston event. Spot, along with its partner Roscoe, was part of the security detail for the city’s Fourth of July fireworks on the Boston Esplanade. There they helped monitor and identify potentially hazardous items, such as bombs and provided live video footage of suspicious situations and activity.
