The Internet of Things could fuel a new wave of digital disruption, spanning Big Data, security, energy, utilities, smart buildings, and industrial manufacturing, says Tamara McCleary, the CEO of Thulium who will share her vision for IoT’s future in a keynote address at IoT Emerge.
Stanford lecturer Timothy Chou will discuss how the Internet of Things will reshape the world. He has developed a vendor neutral, acronym-free framework that he describes in his book Precision, which he will be available to sign at the event. In his book, Dr. Chou leverages his decades of experience working at Silicon Valley tech companies to develop a survey of the IoT landscape.
Hacker and innovator Pablos Holman Keynote will shed light on how to develop IoT projects with security in mind. Holman has a unique perspective on both making and breaking things. He has worked on an array of gadgets from a brain surgery tool, a machine to suppress hurricanes, a self-sterilizing elevator button, and 3-D food printers. He has also developed Hackerbot, a robot that can steal passwords and given TED talks on how to hack hotel rooms.
It takes a lot more work to create a simple IoT project than a complex one, says Eric Williams, Vice President, Internet of Things (IoT), Avnet, Inc. In his keynote, he’ll discuss his role in developing an IoT strategy at Avnet and his perspective on the IoT market.
Speakers in this track include social business evangelist Sandy Carter, Thulium.co CEO Tamara McCleary, Tech Data senior manager Michelle Curtis, VP of Cloud Services at Clarify360 Jo Peterson, author and futurist Ayelet Baraon, and several other notable speakers.
Prominent recruiters and IoT influencers Bill McCabe and Tripp Braden will join Festo’s Mike Nager to discuss the latest employment trends. Marketing guru and influencer Michael Sim will moderate the discussion.
We gather some of the most influential IoT leaders to discuss the most promising current applications of the Internet of Things, best practices, and common pitfalls for implementing the technology. A panel discussion with the influencers will be followed by a reception.
Smart city and connectivity conference SmartGig Chicago will be collocated with IoT Emerge. The event will provide information on gigabit-speed connectivity, municipal fiber networks, ‘smart city’ infrastructure, and more.
