Robotic Arm With 6-Foot Reach Unveiled

Doosan Robotics has unveiled its latest series of collaborative robots (cobots) at Automate 2024, taking place this week in Chicago.

The Prime Series (P-Series) is a robotic arm designed to help with palletizing tasks in a warehouse, with the new series boasting the longest reach of Doosan’s robots so far, reaching up to 80 inches (6 feet) from its body. 

The new models have a payload of 60 lbs and can palletize from floor to 6 feet high, stacking up to 10 layers of boxes approximately 8 inches tall.

As with Doosan’s previous cobots, the P-Series uses AI for continuous learning capabilities, allowing it to respond autonomously to rapidly changing scenarios and different tasks. 

Doosan said its cobots have a range of applications across industries, including manufacturing, logistics, food & beverage, architecture, and service industries. 

So far, Doosan’s cobots have been deployed at Schiphol Airport in the Netherlands for baggage handling tasks, and at South Korean chemicals manufacturer, Wacker Korea’s warehouses, assisting with heavy lifting and loading tasks.
