Huawei Introduces AI Tools to Accelerate Network Transformation

Huawei is using AI to upgrade networks and accelerate transformation as industries move toward 5G adoption. 

That’s according to Steven Zhao, vice president of Huawei’s data communication product line, who spoke at this year’s Huawei Analyst Summit this week in Shenzhen.

“As AI technologies advance, we see the inflection point for deploying network intelligence,” Zhao said. “Networks need to be deeply integrated with AI technologies, propelling Net5.5G networks into the intelligent era.”

Specifically, Huawei introduced its Net Master, powered by generative AI and an HD network digital map to “accelerate the pace” toward autonomous networks.

In addition, Huawei said its Net5.5G High-Quality 10 Gbps CloudCampus leverages AI technologies to upgrade the wireless application and operations and maintenance experience. 

“We believe network innovation in the Net5.5G era covers two aspects: AI for networks and networks for AI,” Zhao said. “An intelligent network entails intelligent network elements, digital twins and generative AI, which underpin efficient, intelligent network operations, 

“And AI-powered network solutions accurately meet the needs of intelligent networks and, more importantly, turbocharge AI training and maximize the transmission capacity of intelligent computing.”

Huawei’s analyst summit hosts more than 500 analysts, think tank researchers, and other guests discussing how different industries are leveraging AI, and what’s next in the age of intelligence.

During the event, Eric Xu, Huawei's deputy chairman and rotating chairman, gave a keynote detailing the company’s strategy to seize opportunities in AI. 

As part of the strategy, the company said it is actively integrating AI into its day-to-day operations, and supporting global AI governance.

Specifically, the company said it will help get industries ready for AI with its ready-to-call AI models, roll out AI agents to enhance customer experience, and develop autonomous driving network solutions to “pave the way for a driverless future.”

"In October 2018, we officially unveiled our AI strategy and Full-Stack, All-Scenario AI Portfolio,” said Xu. “Since then, we've been pressing ahead with this strategy, developing all manner of AI solutions in our advance towards All Intelligence."
