Eric Winsborrow is the CEO of Distrix Networks, an Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) networking software company. He has over 25 years of senior level Silicon Valley experience introducing disruptive new products and technologies. Most recently, Eric was a founder and CEO of Shadow Networks, a DOD sponsored cyber security company leveraging Software Defined Technology to create a new category of security termed Deception Networks. Previously, Eric was Vice President of Product Marketing for McAfee, where he conceived and executed the most successful product launch in company history, Total Protection Solutions. He also ran Product Management for Symantec’s flagship enterprise client and server security, a $450M portfolio introducing Symantec Client Security and other 1.0 security solutions, and led Product Management for Cisco’s Unified Communications Software Business Unit in the beginning days VoIP technology. Eric also has extensive startup experience. He was Chief Marketing Officer for a Sequoia Capital startup, Sipera Systems (acquired by Avaya); CMO for Layer 7 Technologies (acquired by Computer Associates); Executive Director of Product Management at Sygate Technologies (acquired by Symantec) and Director of Business Development at Octel Communications (acquired by Lucent). Eric conducted his undergraduate studies in Engineering Physics and Economics at McMaster University in Canada, and completed his MBA in International Business and Marketing at IIST in Japan.
