Rajiv Weragama is a service assurance engineer of the Sri Lanka Telecom PLC, Sri Lanka. He is responsible for the service restoration of PSTN, CDMA, LTE, leased lines, IPTV, ADSL, VDSL, FTTH and Wi-Fi. He also plans the FTTx network expansion, public Wi-Fi network implementation and network quality improvement in the central region of Sri Lanka.
Prior to his present role, he served as the CDMA core network operations engineer of the Sri Lanka Telecom and as a demonstrator of the Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka.
He holds M.Sc.Eng and B.Sc.Eng (Hons) degrees in electrical and electronic engineering from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, an MBA in finance and BIT from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. He is currently pursuing his PhD in the area of Internet of Things at the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka.
Apart from that he serves as a trainer, speaker, researcher and an undergraduate project facilitator. He works as a trainer at the Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation (CTO) and recently conducted the SS7 Signalling and Applications in Mobile Networks course in Gaborone, Botswana. Further, he was a speaker/panelist at the Broadband TV Connect Asia-2016, 5G MENA 2016, 5G Asia 2016 and Broadband Forum Asia 2017.
