Smart Camera for Connected Car Telematics Makes Debut

Fleet managers can use Jungo’s VuDrive dual-camera system to monitor driver performance and more
  • Written by Callum Cyrus
  • 19th January 2022

Jungo has debuted a new smart camera for visual car telematics that complements its existing computer vision software stack.

The company’s VuDrive dual-camera offers camera-based driver monitoring, road risk analysis, video recording and cloud services. The product allows for separate recordings of the road and the vehicle’s interior. It identifies visual indications of risky actions and adverse highway incidents before raising a real-time flag to relevant stakeholders.

Telematics service providers like vehicle rental outlets can integrate the platform with their existing cloud computing stack.

The camera is powered by Jungo’s software engine, CoDriver, which uses visual AI to monitor driver and passenger behavior.

Jungo CEO and co-founder Ophir Herbst said product availability is based on affordable hardware and subscription services as well as enabling AI video telematics at scale. He says the product is already proven to increase safety across multiple fleets.

“VuDrive offers fleets an opportunity to ramp up their drivers safety levels, using world class AI that enables real time in-cabin and road alerts, aggregated driver scoring, and easy to use cloud services,” Herbst said.

The VuDrive system is now available to telematics service providers globally and has already been deployed across several countries.
