PTC is out to simplify the capture of real-time performance data in industrial IoT networks.

The latest addition to its ThingWorx software offering, the ThingWorx Digital Performance Management Solution (DPM), collates production data from various sources in a real-time dashboard interface, with drag forecasts for each bottleneck.

Showcased at its virtual Manufacturing Live event, the new IIoT offering is a self-regulating and self-measuring platform for closed-loop problem solving. DPM optimizes resources and provides performance insights in real-time, in an easily understandable metric, in hours.

Craig Melrose, PTC’s executive vice president of digital transformation solutions, said manufacturers consider digital transformation essential but often only see incremental improvements, not “large-scale transformational improvements.”

“PTC’s new ThingWorx DPM solution enables companies to address the most valuable manufacturing improvements and solve common challenges to drive manufacturing efficiency and transformation at scale,” he said.

PTC president and CEO Jim Heppelmann said the release marks a significant milestone in the company’s efforts to help manufacturers create business value.

“This software marks the beginning of a new phase in PTC’s IIoT growth strategy as we evolve our positioning of ThingWorx as a suite of powerful enterprise solutions that power significant enterprise efficiency to drive business value,” Heppelmann said.
