Omdia IoT Market Updates

The Internet of Things market continues to be strong, but the impact of COVID-19 is complex.
  • 21st September 2020

Thanks in part to strong demand in China, the IoT market is poised to continue expanding. The effects of COVID-19 on the IoT market are, however, complex with some sectors negatively impacted.

The situation overall is positive, according to Sam Lucero, senior principal analyst, IoT platforms at Omdia. “Omdia believes the IoT market will grow strongly over the period from 2019 through 2025,” Lucero said. “And this growth should benefit all of the main IoT application segments — with smart home and smart building applications comprising the largest shares of the IoT device installed base by 2025.”
