McObject wins IoT Vendor of the Year

  • 1st December 2018

London, New York, Seattle: McObject®, developer of the ultra-fast and scalable eXtremeDB® database management system, has been named ‘IoT Vendor of the Year’ at the 2018 Computing Technology Product Awards. The renowned, technology-exclusive awards comprise 29 categories and were created to recognize the companies, products and personalities achieving outstanding results in the global technology industry. The winners were announced at a gala ceremony on 30 November in Central London and were determined by votes received from the finalist companies’ peers, clients and industry leaders.

eXtremeDB boasts a deployed product base of over 28 million IoT devices in numerous verticals, including aerospace, networking, industrial automation, consumer electronics, automotive and others. Industry giants including F5, GoPro, Boeing, Motorola, DirecTV and ViaSat use it for its incomparable speed and efficiency; it was the first database system to cater specifically for real-time embedded systems (the edge of the IoT).

eXtremeDB recently achieved record-breaking benchmark results when independently tested and audited by the Securities Technology Analysis Center (STAC®), using the STAC M3 benchmark suite. The M3 benchmark is the industry standard for testing high-speed time series data analytics. IoT Big Data analytics is largely comprised of processing large volumes of time series data.

Steve Graves, president and CEO of McObject, said: “We are extremely pleased to have come away with a win, not only from a publication as well-respected as Computing, but also in a category as significant as this one! In an increasingly-complex sector, our IoT-related work is constantly evolving as we meet clients’ requirements by continually enhancing our system, as evidenced by Active Data Replication in eXtremeDB 8.0 to map ‘storage containers’ on edge devices to cloud database aggregation locations. I believe that the recognition of this award can be attributed to our mission to innovate in anticipation of market needs and to stay ahead of competitors’ capabilities.”

Graves continued: “Our customers rely on eXtremeDB to help them manage the increasing importance and prevalence of data-intensive applications, and our goal is to consistently meet and exceed these expectations!”

The win closely follows the Big Data Excellence Awards, another major Computing award, where McObject’s win in the ‘Outstanding Structured Database Award’ category in May recognized the unrivalled capabilities of, and benefits provided by, eXtremeDB.
