The Internet of Things seemed to be nearly everywhere at CES this year. In 2017, there was a parade of new IoT devices, ranging from connected cars to wearables. In addition, Amazon’s Alexa virtual assistant technology is beginning to emerge as a sort of operating system for connected consumer devices. It is now employed in everything from cars, smart fridges, robots, and smartphones.

Brian is a veteran journalist with more than ten years’ experience covering an array of technologies including the Internet of Things, 3-D printing, and cybersecurity. Before coming to Penton and later Informa, he served as the editor-in-chief of UBM’s Qmed where he overhauled the brand’s news coverage and helped to grow the site’s traffic volume dramatically. Multilingual, Brian has an M.A. degree in German from the University of Oklahoma.
